Civilian
are a tight rock band who pride themselves on live performance so much that
they recorded their songs in just one take in the studio - their view is
that they only get one take live and decided that they would attempt to
recreate the energy of a live performance in the studio. And they did good!
Some people who have followed this band in the past may know them by their
former name of 'Free The Walls'. The line-up includes, the talented vocalist
and lyric writer Jodie Holmes, the blistering guitar work of Jamie Dennis
held together by the very distinctive drumming of Kevin Marshall and solid
bass playing of Jason Eddy.
Formed in January 2005, the band have moulded themselves into a group with seemingly more than just a few months practice behind them! Influences range from Incubus, Audioslave, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Hundred Reason, Smashing Pumpkins, Reuben, QotSA and the Foo Fighters. The band play venues like The Fox, The Courtney, The Townhouse and various other venues around Newton Abbot, Torquay and Exeter. So keep an eye out for them live!
